Barclays Private Bank Appoints Ong Shun Wei as Head of DPM Singapore
Barclays Private Bank has appointed Ong Shun Wei as Head of Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) in Singapore. Ong will report to Olivier Asselin, Global Co-Head of Investment Management for Barclays Private Bank.
Ong joins Barclays from Credit Suisse Asset Management, where he served as a Senior Portfolio Manager for Asian and Emerging Market bonds. In his role, he was the Lead Portfolio Manager for Singapore-booked discretionary mandates within the Fixed Income Asia team. Ong also led the Client Portfolio Management unit, driving business development initiatives for the team.
Ong's extensive experience includes a previous tenure at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he managed a team of portfolio specialists focusing on Asian, Australian, and global multi-sector fixed-income strategies.
In his new role at Barclays, Ong will be responsible for enhancing the bank’s DPM offerings in Singapore, leveraging his expertise to bolster portfolio management strategies and client services. His appointment is part of Barclays’ broader strategy to strengthen its investment management capabilities in the region, reflecting a continued commitment to delivering tailored solutions to its high-net-worth clientele.
