Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow Strengthens Global M&A with Key New Hires

Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow, the Singapore arm of the global firm Baker McKenzie, has enhanced its transactional capabilities across Asia with the addition of Shirin Tang and Ang Lip Kian. Tang, who was formerly the managing partner at Morrison Foerster’s Singapore office and held various leadership positions within the firm, will join Baker McKenzie as co-head of the Singapore M&A practice, alongside Boo Bee Chun.

Chun, principal and co-head of the Singapore M&A practice at Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow, said, “With dealmaking and growth potential strong in Singapore and Southeast Asia, the wealth of experience and deep sector expertise that they bring will be of significant value to our clients”.

Tang brings more than 20 years of experience in cross-border M&A and private equity transactions. She worked at Shearman & Sterling’s (now A&O Shearman) New York and Singapore offices for 10 years. Her practice areas include institutional real estate, e-commerce, life sciences and consumer sectors.

Kian, who joins Baker McKenzie as a partner from Morrison & Foerster, specializes in representing international funds, multinational corporations, and financial institutions in major cross-border transactions. His practice covers diverse sectors such as real estate, fintech, and life sciences, with a particular emphasis on emerging technologies and innovative business strategies. Over the past 18 months, Baker McKenzie’s global M&A and private equity practice has experienced substantial growth, with the firm adding over 50 partners in key financial centers around the world.
