Keny F. Wilper will be stepping down from his position as Chief Operating Officer of Allegiant Travel Company today, and Tyler Hollingsworth, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations, will be taking over as acting COO.

He will continue to serve as an advisor while the business looks for a replacement.

Throughout his remarkable 23-year career with Allegiant, Wilper held a number of important operations positions.

He started working with the team to transform Allegiant into an ultra-low-cost carrier shortly after joining the firm in 2002.

Notably, Wilper contributed to the creation of Allegiant's first-ever luggage and auxiliary in-flight programs, which have been a key component of the airline's commercial strategy.

He has held important leadership positions throughout his career, all of which have improved the business's financial performance and operational strength.

"Keny has been instrumental in our company's success," said Gregory C. Anderson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Allegiant. "As COO, his leadership and collaborative approach greatly improved our operations. His legacy includes the strong team he has helped develop. I speak on behalf of Team Allegiant in thanking Keny for his many years of service and contributions."

Hollingsworth joined the company in 2010. He became the Vice President of Safety and Security after four years of service as a line pilot. In this role, he oversaw a group that merged Allegiant's security and safety divisions and applied a revolutionary approach to safety system design.  Allegiant adopted an integrated data management method as a result of his vision, which enabled strong oversight and danger identification initiatives.

Additionally, he played a crucial role during the COVID-19 epidemic, and as a result of his leadership, Airline Ratings named the airline a "Seven-Star airline for safety and COVID-19 protection."

"The decision to step down from my role as COO was not made lightly, but I need to take time away to focus on my family, who have faced some significant challenges," Wilper said.

"It has been a tremendous privilege to be part of this company. When I first joined Allegiant, I had high hopes that we would become a successful airline. We have far surpassed my dreams, becoming not just an airline but a driving force in leisure travel. I've had the pleasure of working alongside the most passionate, dedicated, and hard-working team members in the industry. I am proud of all we have accomplished together and confident in the bright future that lies ahead for Allegiant. I look forward to continuing my work for Allegiant in a different capacity, confident that the operation is in good hands with a skilled and talented leadership team."

Hollingsworth was elevated to Senior Vice President of Flight Operations after achieving success in Safety and Security.  He currently manages almost half of the airline's 6,100 personnel, as well as the Operation Control Center, Flight Operations, and Inflight Operations.
