Alibaba Cloud now offers its Alibaba Cloud Certified Associate (ACA) Generative AI Engineer course to customers, partners, and developers worldwide starting this year. Designed by the Alibaba Cloud Academy, the course provides the essential understanding of the technology, spanning from its origins in machine learning to various aspects like natural language processing, encoder-decoders, generative adversarial networks, and utilizing models through retrieval-augmented generation, agents, and beyond.

By the conclusion of 2024, the course intends to empower between 10,000 to 20,000 learners globally with foundational AI understanding. Participants will be instructed on deploying generative AI (Gen AI) applications on Alibaba Cloud platforms. Upon finishing the course, they will receive an ACA certificate. “Our ACA Generative AI Engineer course aims to help customers, partners, developers and users of various backgrounds globally to really unlock that potential and drive tomorrow’s digital agenda”, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence international business president Selina Yuan said.

Since April 2023, over 60,000 people received training certificates through Alibaba Cloud’s talent development initiatives. Recently, Alibaba Cloud launched its first Training Center in Singapore, partnering with Trainocate Singapore to offer courses such as cloud computing and AI. The center empowers local customers, partners, and instructors with knowledge-sharing opportunities and organizes events that champion university-industry collaboration.

In addition to Training Centers catering to seasoned professionals seeking skill enhancement, Alibaba Cloud offers a Skills Center tailored for students who are in the early stages of learning foundational concepts. In February 2024, Alibaba Cloud partnered with Universiti Malaya to inaugurate the Alibaba Cloud Academy Skills Center, along with its inaugural internship program, aimed at nurturing Malaysia's upcoming leaders and talent pool.

In the previous year, Alibaba Cloud collaborated with the Office of Academic Resources of Chulalongkorn University to establish the Skills Center in Thailand. This center provides students and the general public with complimentary access to training courses, bootcamps, AI competitions, and leadership development initiatives.

In Hong Kong, Alibaba Cloud initiated a collaborative talent empowerment program with Kornerstone Hong Kong, resulting in the establishment of a Training Center. Additionally, the company teamed up with The University of Hong Kong Business School to introduce the inaugural cloud computing credit course for undergraduate students.

In Indonesia, Alibaba Cloud has forged collaborations with universities like Binus University, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Universitas Pendidikan Manadalika, and Universitas Pelita Harapan. The company intends to broaden the accessibility of its Skills Centers and Training Centers to additional markets in Asia and Europe within the current year.
