Advanced Info Service (AIS) has announced its plan to launch Oracle Alloy and AIS Cloud, Thailand's first hyperscale cloud owned and operated locally. With Oracle Alloy, AIS will offer over 100 Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services to customers and enterprises throughout Thailand, including the public sector, featuring cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) advancements. Oracle's unique offering includes a comprehensive suite of over 100 cloud services across dedicated, public, and hybrid cloud environments worldwide.

AIS, which serves over 45 million subscribers in Thailand, is broadening its cloud services by utilizing Oracle Alloy. The new AIS Cloud will meet data residency and sovereignty requirements, including adherence to Thailand's Personal Data Protection (PDPA) Act and Cybersecurity Act. As Thailand's only hyperscale cloud, AIS Cloud will provide business resilience and local disaster recovery capabilities, aiming to leverage cloud scalability and performance while driving innovation at hyperscale speeds.

Somchai Lertsutiwong, CEO of AIS, highlighted that the company has been advancing digital technology infrastructure for over 34 years to deliver an exceptional digital experience for customers in Thailand. He emphasized that AIS leverages its network by partnering with various organizations to support both the public and private sectors in achieving digital transformation. This approach aims to enhance capabilities and drive business growth, contributing to sustainable competitive advantages for the country.

“Cloud technology plays a pivotal role in supporting the IT infrastructure modernization and innovation for organizations in Thailand, and Oracle Alloy has made it possible for AIS to become a locally owned and operated hyperscale cloud provider in the country”, Lertsutiwong added.

“This strategic collaboration between Oracle and AIS will not only accelerate AIS’ transformation from a ‘telco to a techco’ but also unlock the immense potential for digital transformation and AI innovation for all organizations". He also emphasized that AIS Cloud (set to leverage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) will play a crucial role in transforming business operations. It will help organizations seize market opportunities and differentiate themselves from competitors.

This development is anticipated to greatly boost the competitive advantage of Thai organizations, attract investment, and foster sustainable economic growth in Thailand. AIS Cloud will be rolled out across two AIS data centers in the country, where AIS will oversee the cloud services and provide local support, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Customer data will stay within Thailand to meet data sovereignty and industry regulations.

With Oracle Alloy, AIS will provide more than 100 Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services to public and private sector organizations, as well as its managed service partners. This setup will allow customers to either migrate their existing cloud environments from abroad or transition and modernize their on-premises systems to the AIS Cloud in Thailand.
