AirAsia is building on its strong network expansion from India to Malaysia and Thailand by launching a new route from Port Blair to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This development further cements AirAsia's status as a top low-cost carrier in the region, as it has become the only airline in ASEAN to operate international flights to and from Port Blair.

Starting on 16 November 2024, AirAsia will operate flights three times a week from Port Blair to Kuala Lumpur, bringing its total number of routes from India to 17. With the new addition, AirAsia now connects various Indian cities, including Amritsar and Chennai, with a total of 97 flights per week. In 2024, the airline introduced 10 new routes to Malaysia and Thailand, including destinations such as Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, and Kozhikode.
