ADNOC Gas Presents $1.34 billion In Contracts For UAE natural Gas Pipeline Expansion
For the expansion of its natural gas pipeline network, ADNOC Gas has given contracts worth $1.34 billion to Petrofac Emirates and a group that includes National Petroleum Construction Co. and C.A.T International Ltd.
By adding the additional pipeline, ADNOC Gas will be able to deliver more natural gas to consumers in the northern emirates and increase the length of its current network from over 3,200 kilometers to over 3,500 km.
These are under the company's 'Estidama' programme, which consists of many packages, the first of which will be awarded in 2021 for modifications to existing pipelines and finished in 2023. Construction of additional pipelines and a gas compression facility in Habshan are part of the second and third packages, which are now being awarded. These projects will assist provide crucial feed gas to important clients throughout the Emirates.
The integrated masterplan for gas developed by ADNOC links "all segments of the UAE's gas value chain, ensuring a sustainable and cost-effective supply of natural gas to meet domestic and global demand." The strategy calls for the development of unexplored resources as well as an increase in gas recovery from current assets.
“Our strategic network expansion will bring the advantages of lower-cost, sustainable and cleaner gas to more locations across the UAE by enhancing industrial access to natural gas, a cost-competitive and lower-carbon intensive fuel," said Ahmed Mohamed Alebri, CEO of ADNOC Gas.
