ACCA Names Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan as Vice President
The Chief Executive Officer of a prominent Malaysian scholarship provider has been appointed as one of the senior officers of the global accountancy body ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), which represents over 252,500 members and 526,000 future members across 180 countries.
Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan brings extensive business experience to the role. She is CEO of the Malaysia Professional Accountancy Centre (MyPAC), a non-profit dedicated to helping students from poorer backgrounds find careers in finance. She also holds senior non-executive director posts including chair of GX Bank, Malaysia’s first digital bank.

She was elected to ACCA’s Council in 2016 and has previously served as the president of the ACCA Malaysia Advisory Committee. She has also previously served as Deputy Chair of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) Professional Accountants in Business (PAIB)Committee.
Datuk Zaiton Mohd Hassan joins fellow ACCA officers Ayla Majid, President and a sustainability strategist from Pakistan, and Melanie Proffitt, Deputy President and Chief Financial Officer of Farncombe Estate, a hotel group in England. This marks the first time in ACCA’s history that women have held all three officer positions simultaneously.
