Agrobank appoints Che Zulhaimee Abdullah as its new Chief People Officer. The Islamic bank, focused on serving the agricultural and agro-based industries, has enlisted the three-decade HR veteran to steer its people strategy, with a particular emphasis on talent development and organizational transformation initiatives.

Abdullah brings extensive knowledge, expertise, and leadership experience across sectors including banking, automotive, aerospace, and telecoms. He joins Agrobank following nearly six years as VP of HR at Honda Malaysia.

At the car company, Abdullah spearheaded strategic HR, talent development and employer branding programmes, shining a light on the company as one of the most sought-after employers in Malaysia.

He was also General Manager of Group Human Capital & Administration at Composite Technology Resource Malaysia, where he managed a “full spectrum of human capital operations, strategy and development as well as general administration and security,” he said.

At CTRM, he was also involved in the company’s turnaround and people transformation strategy, as well as its employee engagement, organizational development, and TVET initiatives.

His professional history includes his tenure at Proton – where he managed industrial relations and union management, along with employee engagement and internal communications – and his time as Senior Manager at Standard Chartered.

In 2019, Abdullah was named one of Malaysia's 101 HR Heroes and has since received several accolades for his contributions to employer branding initiatives.
