Jerrie Tan Returns to Eugene Thuraisingam as Partner
Singapore law firm Eugene Thuraisingam has welcomed back litigator Jerrie Tan as a partner from K&L Gates Straits Law, where she held the position of counsel.
Tan, who started her career at Eugene Thuraisingam in 2013, returns after an eight-year tenure at K&L Gates Straits Law, where she gained extensive experience in commercial disputes and corporate investigations under the mentorship of Narayanan Sreenivasan SC, the firm’s former managing partner.
The move is set to strengthen Eugene Thuraisingam's China and regional practice, as well as its capabilities in dispute resolution, criminal defense, and corporate investigations. Tan, fluent in Mandarin, has a particular focus on serving Mandarin-speaking clients and those based in China.
Tan has over 40 reported judgments to her name in the Singapore Supreme Court and has acted as lead counsel in international arbitration proceedings with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre. Her clients include listed companies and multinational corporations.
In addition to her commercial practice, Tan regularly represents accused persons facing capital charges pro bono. She is one of the youngest female lawyers appointed to the Lead Counsel panel for capital offenses in Singapore.
“It is my pleasure to welcome Jerrie Tan as a partner”, said Suang Wijaya, managing partner of Eugene Thuraisingam, in a LinkedIn post. “Jerrie's appointment adds heft to our growing China practice, and strengthens our offerings in disputes, investigations, and criminal litigation”.
With Tan's return, Eugene Thuraisingam now boasts a total of five partners.
