Dr. Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt and President of the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide, welcomed Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, Bahrain's Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, at the headquarters of Egyptian Dar Al Ifta.
Ambassador Zainal congratulated Dr. Ayyad on his appointment as Grand Mufti of Egypt and wished him success in his role. She highlighted the prominent status of Al Azhar and the Egyptian Dar Al Ifta in the Arab and Islamic worlds, reaffirming Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening cooperation in light of the longstanding ties between the two countries.
Dr. Ayyad highlighted the strong ties between Egypt and Bahrain, praising Bahrain's efforts in promoting Islamic values, peaceful coexistence, and tolerance. He emphasized the significance of the Islamic-Islamic Dialogue Conference, which Bahrain will host in February, as a key platform for fostering unity and understanding among religious leaders. Dr. Ayyad also reaffirmed Dar Al Ifta's commitment to deepening cooperation with Bahrain to promote moderation, and coexistence, and combat extremism and terrorism.
Both parties underscored the importance of strengthening religious and cultural cooperation, including the exchange of expertise and visits.
