John Gates has been appointed Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) by CropX, a leader in the world of digital solutions for agronomic farm management. After holding executive positions in Europe and North America, Gates will be in charge of CropX's international commercial expansion.

With offices and staff spread out over five continents, CropX has a global ambition to offer farmers everywhere useful and accessible technologies. Previously, Gates served as the European division of CropX's temporary CEO, which comprises Dacom Farm Intelligence. He also held the positions of Senior Vice President and Global Head of Product for CropX, where he oversaw the post-merger integration of four acquisitions' technology into the CropX platform.

As CRO, Gates will now oversee CropX's international sales and revenue operations. To increase market penetration, speed up revenue growth, and broaden the company's product offerings, he will work closely with the management team.

"John brings a proven track record of leveraging technology to help farmers, as well as expansive science and agronomy expertise, and agriculture industry experience to his new position," said Tomer Tzach, CEO of CropX. "Over the past few years, he has earned the respect of the entire global team for being a strong leader and collaborator. I look forward to working with him to further strengthen the company's position as a pioneer in providing complete, data-driven agronomic solutions that are accessible to every farm."

Gates has a two-decade experience in academia and the technology industry devoted to the development of sustainable farming. Gates formerly worked for CropMetrics, which CropX bought, as the Chief Science Officer and Head of Product. Prior to that, he held the positions of professor at the University of Nebraska and Senior Scientist at The Climate Corporation.
