CFN Lawyers Strengthens Team with Corporate Partner Patrick Wong from Reed Smith
Hong Kong-based law firm CFN Lawyers has further bolstered its team by appointing corporate partner Patrick Wong, who joins from U.S. firm Reed Smith.
With more than 20 years of legal experience, Wong specializes in various corporate matters, including equity and debt fundraising, investments, corporate restructurings, joint ventures, takeovers, and mergers and acquisitions. He also has significant expertise in advising listing companies and listed issuers on spin-offs and privatizations. Additionally, Wong offers extensive regulatory knowledge and has fostered strong working relationships with regulators throughout his career.
Before joining CFN Lawyers, Wong was a partner at Reed Smith for more than 15 years.
In a LinkedIn post welcoming Wong, CFN Lawyers stated, "Patrick's client-centered approach makes him a perfect fit for our clients. We are confident that Patrick will play a significant role in our continued collective success and growth".
Established in 2013 by managing partner Bowie Fung and her colleagues, CFN Lawyers has been steadily expanding its partner ranks. The firm added dispute resolution veteran Bonita Chan last month, and with Wong's arrival, CFN Lawyers now counts 13 partners.
This strategic appointment highlights a growing trend in Hong Kong's legal market, where mid-sized local firms are increasingly drawing top talent from international law firms. As these local firms broaden their expertise and client portfolios, they are becoming more competitive, challenging the longstanding dominance of large global firms in key practice areas within the region's dynamic legal landscape.
