What are some of the ways you leverage your vast experience in your current role?

Firstly, my background in Certified Public Accountant, gained during my tenure at a leading firm, equips me with a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of financial processes. This expertise allows me to ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements, providing stakeholders with reliable information for decision-making.

Secondly, my experience in strategic planning and business development, cultivated through roles in consulting and corporate planning, enables me to contribute significantly to I Cubed Systems growth trajectory. I leverage strategic thinking to identify new opportunities, assess market trends, and develop robust business strategies that align with our long-term goals.

Continuous learning & active engagement with industry peers are my go-to strategies when it comes to staying informed

Additionally, my experience in fundraising and financial management equips me to navigate complex financial landscapes effectively. I have a proven track record of securing funding, optimizing capital allocation, and managing financial risks, all of which are critical aspects of my role as CFO in ensuring the financial health, growth through organic and M&A, and sustainability of our organization.

Furthermore, my experience in stakeholder management and government relations, particularly during my time in a startup environment, enables me to foster strong relationships with investors, regulators, and other key stakeholders. This ability to navigate diverse stakeholder dynamics and communicate effectively enhances our company's reputation and credibility in the industry.

Can you shed some light on your leadership approach?

One fundamental aspect is leading by example. I believe in demonstrating the behaviors and work ethic that I expect from my team members. By setting a positive example, I can inspire and motivate others to follow suit, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

Another crucial aspect of my leadership methodology is quick decision-making. As a decision-maker, it's vital to be decisive and proactive in addressing challenges and seizing opportunities. I prioritize making informed yet timely decisions to keep projects and initiatives moving forward efficiently. Recognizing the diverse experiences and knowledge within the team, I strive to create an environment where everyone feels valued and heard.

Balancing hard work with leisure is another principle I adhere to. While hard work is essential for achieving goals, I also recognize the importance of downtime and rejuvenation. Encouraging a healthy work-life balance not only enhances productivity but also promotes well-being and creativity among team members.

Physical fitness and mental toughness are integral parts of my leadership approach. I prioritize staying physically active through regular exercise, as I believe that a healthy body contributes to sharper focus, better decision-making, and overall resilience in challenging situations.

How do you stay updated with the latest industry trends?

Continuous learning and active engagement with industry peers are my go-to strategies when it comes to staying informed. Currently, I am pursuing an Executive MBA, which entails regular trips to Hong Kong twice a month and quarterly visits to the US. The rapidly evolving business landscape necessitates a constant refresh of knowledge and expertise, which is why I decided to pursue an EMBA to gain a global perspective.

Additionally, I maintain regular communication with industry leaders and former colleagues to glean the latest insights and information. Attending conferences is also a part of my routine, as these events provide valuable opportunities to network, exchange ideas, and stay abreast of emerging trends.

What advice would you give to emerging leaders?

I would suggest emerging leaders cultivate a broad perspective. It's crucial to avoid tunnel vision and instead, strive to see the bigger picture. This broader view enables more informed and effective decision-making. Additionally, aspiring leaders should lead by example. Laziness has no place in leadership; hard work and earning respect from others through dedication are essential. Always give your best effort and lead by demonstrating the standards you expect from your team.
