My professional journey has been anchored in the belief that infrastructure is the bedrock of progress, akin to the vital components powering innovative technology and construction. Just as outdated banking software impedes the efficiency of modern finance apps, obsolete infrastructure stifles innovation across industries. Witnessing this disparity, particularly in developing cities, spurred my resolve to drive change. As the Chief Marketing Officer of Pathway Technologies, our mission is clear: modernize infrastructure and foster sustainable development, starting with road construction in the Philippines. Today, my passion lies in bridging the gap between legacy infrastructure and cutting-edge solutions, paving the way for sustainable progress.
As you are the Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer, could you tell us about the inspiration behind the establishment of Pathway Technologies?
The genesis of Pathway Technologies stems from a convergence of passion, vision, and necessity. My background in sales, particularly in banking, acquainted me intimately with people's needs and aspirations. Reconnecting with a college friend and mentor, amidst a backdrop of outdated infrastructure plaguing developing cities, ignited a fervor to effect change. Together, with my co-founders; CEO Michael Rubio and COO - Mark Dantes, we embarked on a journey to revolutionize construction through cutting-edge technology. Launching in the crucible of the pandemic, our resolve was tested, but our determination never wavered. Overcoming myriad challenges, including navigating governmental bureaucracy, we stayed true to our mission of enhancing sustainability in construction. Today, with over 200 projects nationwide and substantial revenue, our commitment remains unwavering, driving us to shape a future where progress is synonymous with sustainability.

In your role as the Chief Marketing Officer, what are the latest strategic plans you have adopted to expand/optimize operations and engage customers in the market?
In my role as Chief Marketing Officer, our latest strategic plans focus on grassroots engagement and diversification. Initially, we targeted project engineers and planners directly, bypassing hierarchical layers to garner genuine feedback and endorsements. This approach yielded dividends as positive reviews cascaded upward, influencing higher officials. Building on this success, we've expanded our horizons to cater to the needs of farmers through farm-to-market road projects, aligning with national initiatives. Concurrently, we've capitalized on our credibility in government projects to gain traction with private developers. By demonstrating our efficacy and reliability, we've earned the respect and trust necessary to drive forward our agenda of modernizing infrastructure and fostering sustainable development.
Tell us about your leadership approach that helps ensure smooth operations within the marketing department.
My leadership approach at Pathway Technologies revolves around fostering a culture of continuous learning and empowerment within the marketing department. As an engineering-centric company, my challenge was to imbue our engineers with effective sales skills. Leading by example, I actively engage in client interfaces alongside our team, demonstrating the importance of hands-on leadership. While I can't be present in every interaction, I ensure that guidance is readily available. Weekly sales huddles provide a platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration, drawing from diverse experiences to refine our strategies collectively. Through this approach, we cultivate a dynamic environment where members feel supported, motivated, and equipped to excel in their roles.
What are the key milestones in your journey and what's been your secret to success?
My professional journey has been marked by significant milestones, each representing a step forward in my career trajectory. Transitioning from a prominent local bank to a global institution like Citibank was a defining moment, signaling my entry into the international financial arena. Throughout my tenure, I garnered recognition and accolades, such as being named the top investment specialist for consecutive years. Moving from a corporate setting to entrepreneurship amidst the pandemic was both exhilarating and challenging, underscoring my adaptability and resilience. Despite the intense times, my company's enduring success speaks volumes about our determination and strategic acumen. Each milestone reflects not only a personal achievement but also a commitment to excellence in the face of adversity.
