In the fast-paced business environment, the role of corporate consultants has never been more crucial. As companies strive to adapt to market changes, optimize their operations, and scale efficiently, they rely on visionary corporate consultants to guide them forward. These leaders bring strategic insights and innovative solutions that drive growth, streamline processes, and enhance organizational resilience. With a blend of expertise and hands-on experience, corporate consultants are pivotal in helping companies achieve their goals, manage change effectively, and stay competitive. One of the most remarkable figures in this field is Mohammad AlMussaed, the Founder and Managing Director of Foodz Way.

Mohammad began his career in the legal sector, which remains a core passion for him, but soon transitioned into the realm of human resources. This shift was driven by his desire to create meaningful opportunities, enhance skill development, and reduce workplace obstacles. His work now focuses on improving work environments and supporting companies in achieving their strategic objectives. Mohammad’s unique background in both law and HR allows him to bring a balanced perspective to his consulting practice, making him one of Saudi Arabia’s most respected corporate consultants and a true leader in his field.

In this interview, he sheds light on his entrepreneurial journey and walks us through the changing food industry.

Can you share how your legal and HR experiences have shaped your career & helped you emerge as an industry leader?

I've had the fortunate experience of working with various multinational and international organizations, which exposed me to diverse perspectives and broadened my scope of responsibilities. This progression from strategic planning to overseeing execution taught me the intricacies of business operations beyond HR and legal functions. Additionally, my combined experience in legal and HR has been instrumental, particularly in supporting startups and growth-oriented companies. Understanding compliance, regulatory frameworks, and proper company structuring has been critical, especially when I established Foodz Way. I prioritized setting a solid foundation, creating control methods, and aligning operations with regulations.

The role of HR has evolved. It's no longer just about resources or capital, people have become the core asset. With this in mind, I focus on strategic manpower planning, employee development, clear career paths, and fostering a positive work culture. Investing in people is essential, as they're the true drivers of long-term success.

Under your leadership, how do you ensure that your products consistently meet the highest standards of sustainability & quality?

For me, achieving high standards begins with meticulous planning. The key is to have a well-defined plan that outlines specific, measurable outcomes. When our goals are quantifiable and trackable, it becomes easier to assess our progress and verify that our objectives are being met. Rather than relying on vague goals like ‘being the best’ or ‘growing quickly,’ we focus on targets that are objective and measurable, which allows us to monitor our progress and make adjustments as needed. This approach provides a clear roadmap, so we’re always aware of how close we are to our targets and what’s required to reach them.

Precise quality control processes are in place throughout our supply chain, including regular audits and adherence to international certifications like ISO 22000. This diligence guarantees that our seafood, imported meats, and Asian products maintain exceptional freshness & safety.

Sustainability is essential to our operations, as we actively seek eco-friendly packaging solutions and minimize waste. We engage with our customers to gather feedback, allowing us to refine our offerings in line with their preferences. Additionally, we greatly invest in the training and development of our team, empowering them with the knowledge necessary to uphold our commitment to excellence. By embedding these principles into our practices, Foodz Way builds lasting trust with clients, strengthening our status as a leading provider of premium culinary products in the food industry.

Investing in people is essential, as they're the true drivers of long-term success

How do you maintain your company’s reputation as a trusted partner & ensure customer satisfaction with your products?

It all comes down to our value proposition. Instead of simply viewing ourselves as a food provider, we consider ourselves a customer service provider. By focusing on the customer experience rather than just the product, we elevate our service. This mindset shift from ‘food provider’ to ‘customer service provider’ drives us to exceed customer expectations at every touchpoint.

At Foodz Way, delivering unmatched customer service and becoming a trusted partner in the culinary industry begins with a strong commitment to quality and relationship building. I guide my team to prioritize our mission of delighting clients with premium products by fostering a customer-focused culture. This starts with understanding our customers' needs and preferences, allowing us to offer tailored solutions that enhance their overall experience.

We oversee every aspect of our business cycle, from sourcing to after-sales support. By sourcing directly and avoiding middlemen, we ensure the quality and freshness of our products. Each step, from careful handling to delivery, is managed to meet our promise of quality. Our commitment doesn’t end with the sale. Instead of waiting for complaints, our proactive customer care team conducts regular check-ins, surveys, and visits to address any issues before they arise. This preventative approach reinforces our customer-centric philosophy, ensuring that we consistently provide the experience our clients are looking for.

What are the characteristics you look for when forging strategic partnerships & in maintaining strong relationships with vendors?

Building strategic partnerships and maintaining strong relationships with vendors at Foodz Way, I prioritize several key characteristics that align with our commitment to quality and excellence. First of all, I look for partners who share our values of integrity and sustainability. This alignment ensures that we both maintain committed to high standards in our products. Reliability is another critical factor, and I seek vendors who consistently deliver high-quality products on time. This reliability helps us maintain our commitment to freshness and excellence, which is essential for our clientele.

Open communication is vital as well. I value partners who are transparent and willing to engage in discussion, allowing us to address challenges collaboratively and innovate together. We believe in helping our vendors become better because as much as we care about customer satisfaction, we must also raise our vendors’ standards to ensure continued mutual success. Additionally, shared values & goals are important to ensure that our teams can work effortlessly and share a common vision for growth. By focusing on these characteristics, we can build lasting strategic partnerships with vendors.

What is your formula for success in the food industry?

My success formula centers on service excellence and a commitment to quality at Foodz Way. We focus on sourcing premium products and staying ahead of market trends through innovation, offering new products that enhance customer experiences. Sustainability is key, and we embrace eco-friendly sourcing and solutions benefiting our business, community, and environment. Strong partnerships with suppliers and customers strengthen our network, while continuous team training empowers them to excel. By combining quality, innovation, sustainability, partnerships, and team empowerment, we lead in the food industry and drive success for all involved.

What’s the next chapter in your journey?

In the next chapter at Foodz Way, I’m focused on expanding our market presence regionally and internationally, introducing premium products to new audiences. We’re enhancing our offerings by developing innovative products to stay ahead of consumer trends. Our future includes opening a factory for tailored products and launching restaurants for direct customer insights, which will shape our development. I’m also focused on leveraging technology to improve customer experience and strengthening team culture to foster collaboration and empowerment. I envision Foodz Way as a leader in sustainable practices, inspiring quality standards industry-wide.

What advice would you give budding leaders?

I advise emerging leaders to prioritize quality and a customer-first mindset. High standards build trust and loyalty. Embrace innovation, because staying adaptable in a dynamic sector keeps you ahead. Foster strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and your team, as good communication and mutual respect create resilience. Invest in personal growth and in your team’s development, empowering them to lead. By embodying these principles, leaders can make a lasting impact in the food industry.
