Please provide a brief overview of your professional background and experience. What drives and motivates you in your daily activities?
From a very young age, I’ve been deeply connected to the arts, with music and photography becoming central passions in my life. These creative outlets allowed me to express emotions, capture stories, and see the world uniquely. Over time, my love for the arts evolved into a profound interest in fashion, where I discovered a new form of self-expression that blended creativity, identity, and culture. Fashion became more than just a career path for me, it was a way to channel my artistic sensibilities into something meaningful and impactful. A deep passion for storytelling has driven my journey into the fashion industry through style, where I can merge my lifelong love for music, photography, and visual art into a cohesive expression of individuality and beauty.

Can you share some of the most memorable milestones that have played a significant role in helping you get to where you are today?
From a young age, I was immersed in the arts, beginning as a player of traditional Chinese instruments and composing music publicly. I became one of the first female photographers in China, further fueling my passion for artistic expression. Before entering the fashion industry, I worked in advertising, gaining insights into marketing and brand positioning. I later distributed several prominent European fashion brands in China, gaining valuable retail experience. My husband and I also launched a fast consumer goods company, which Nestlé eventually acquired. Coming from a family business background, I returned to our family company in the 1990s, where I now serve as CEO, leading as the second generation at the helm.
Can you share the sustainable practices Kane Top has implemented in its business and your vision for a sustainable future?
Kane Top has a rich history spanning over 40 years, and as the second-generation leader, I feel a deep responsibility to build on that legacy while ensuring the company’s sustainable growth for the future. One of the biggest challenges we face today is figuring out how to guide the company in a way that not only preserves its values but also positions it to thrive for the next century. Sustainability is at the core of our vision, and we are committed to transforming Kane Top into a global leader in sustainable fashion manufacturing. Beyond just producing high-quality garments, we aim to lead in supply chain management by adopting environmentally friendly practices, reducing our carbon footprint, and promoting ethical production standards. By doing this, we hope to set an example for the industry and ensure that our business not only endures but also contributes positively to the world for generations to come.
Can you describe your leadership approach? What principles or methodologies do you adhere to as a leader?
My leadership philosophy is grounded in respect, transparency, and openness. I believe these principles are essential for fostering a healthy work environment where everyone understands the company's direction and strategy. It’s crucial for me that all team members feel informed and aligned with our goals. While we prioritize consumer focus, I also emphasize the importance of internal innovation. I encourage my team to think creatively and collaboratively, ensuring that we unify our values and work together effectively. I believe that when everyone contributes their ideas and talents, we can drive meaningful change and improve our overall performance. How do you stay informed about ongoing industry trends to guide your organization into the future?
Having served as a supply chain leader in the fashion industry, I prioritize not only staying ahead of trends but also fostering a deep sense of curiosity about the ever-evolving landscape. The fashion industry is constantly shifting, influenced by new technologies, consumer preferences, and global market conditions. To navigate these changes effectively, I focus on leveraging big data and AI technology, which provide valuable insights into market dynamics, customer behaviours, and the competitive landscape. These advanced tools allow us to analyze vast amounts of data in real time, helping us identify emerging trends and opportunities early on. By utilizing this data-driven approach, we can make informed decisions that are not only reactive but also proactive, positioning our business for long-term success. This combination of staying ahead of industry shifts while maintaining a forward-thinking mindset is crucial for driving innovation and maintaining a competitive edge in such a dynamic sector.
What future goals or objectives are you working towards?
This question connects directly to our vision for the future. We aspire to establish a sustainable B2B fashion supply chain that empowers our brands with innovative and high-quality products. At the same time, we want to drive our suppliers to embrace creativity and sustainability in their offerings. By fostering collaboration and innovation throughout the supply chain, we can create a more responsible and efficient industry. This commitment to sustainability and creativity is central to our vision, guiding our efforts as we work toward a future where both our brands and suppliers thrive together.
Given your extensive experience in the industry, what guidance would you offer to emerging leaders in this field?
