Could you give me a brief account of the inspiration behind the establishment of Quantum Matrix?

Quantum Matrix is a technology company specializing in computer graphics. I also run Many Many Creations, a creative agency focused on computer graphics and production. While Many Many Creations leans towards the creative agency side, Quantum Matrix leverages expertise in computer animation to create virtual fitting solutions for virtual humans. The inspiration behind founding Quantum Matrix was to take my personal and professional skills to the next level by developing innovative software for virtual fitting. I began coding for this project a decade ago and reached a milestone in developing virtual fitting technology, which led to obtaining patents for the technology.

Kindly elaborate on your academic journey at Hong Kong Baptist University and shed light on the non-academic lessons and experiences you gained on campus.

In my academy focused on digital graphic communications, the curriculum covers digital media, including graphic design, video production, animations, art history, and drawing. Beyond these academic subjects, being part of the School of Communications exposed me to communication theories, psychology, and philosophy. These broader areas subtly influenced my perspective and complemented my keen interest in exploring the world and understanding humanity. The School of Communication at Baptist University fosters an open-minded and entrepreneurial environment, inspiring creativity and the pursuit of original ideas. This diverse exposure to both technical and soft knowledge has significantly shaped my university experience.

Describe Quantum Matrix as a company and its market standing.

Quantum Matrix is a software technology company specializing in two main areas: virtual try-ons for the fashion retail sector and digital human or avatar creation used in film and video production, as well as virtual fitting experiences. With the rise of the Metaverse and increased utilization of virtual reality and augmented reality, the company's technologies, Quantum Fit and Quantum Human, have gained recognition and received patented status. These proprietary technologies have not only garnered strong client and market interest but also attracted attention from investors due to the inherent monetary value associated with patents. Quantum Matrix's international focus has drawn interest from prominent brands and holding groups in the fashion industry, including LVMH, Kering Group, and PVH Group, among others.

Our approach is to aim for excellence, such as in developing virtual fitting technology, by reaching out to the best minds in the field.

In your role as Founder & CEO, what considerations do you factor in when formulating successful corporate expansion strategies?

With a wealth of experience in managing a production company, I emphasize two fundamental pillars for corporate success: clients and revenue, and the indispensable role of a cohesive team. Recognizing that a dedicated and capable team forms the bedrock of successful marketing, product development, and service delivery, our approach to team management prioritizes flexibility and an open-minded ethos, fostering a culture that encourages innovation without overly rigid rules. In the intricate landscape of team building, particularly in a tech-oriented company, Research and Development (R&D) poses a significant challenge with its unpredictable deadlines, requiring a trial-and-error approach. As an embedded manager, I highlight the global search for top talent, creating a mixed-cultural environment that cultivates collaboration and inspiration among team members. Seeking excellence, we engage professionals from diverse backgrounds in Europe, the United States, and beyond. A pivotal aspect of our international growth strategy involves establishing robust partnerships globally. While some may perceive this as time-consuming, I view it as a strategic use of our most valuable asset – time. Rather than spending years building relationships and market insights in various regions, our approach focuses on forming strong partnerships for a quicker and more effective entry into diverse markets, facilitating the expansion of our business on an international scale.

Explain the process of team formation and how you cultivate an innovative culture among your team members.

As the leader of the business, I view myself not only as a CEO but also as an integral part of our Research and Development (R&D) efforts, drawing on my strong technical background. In contrast to leaders without engineering or technical expertise, I believe in the significance of understanding the practical and engineering aspects of our work. Elon Musk serves as a notable example, showcasing his deep engineering knowledge alongside his entrepreneurial skills. My leadership approach emphasizes the importance of maintaining a strong technical background, even as I transitioned from an engineering role to a more business-oriented position. Continual learning and hands-on experience with coding and visual graphics creation remain integral to my approach. Exploring emerging technologies, such as the flourishing field of AI, is not just a task but a spirit that guides my leadership. This hands-on knowledge not only enables setting practical and feasible goals but also establishes credibility and fosters trust among the team. A leader must convey a vision that aligns with the technical understanding of the team, ensuring they find the direction compelling and convincing.

What is the ultimate goal or destination you aim to reach in the future?

This year, we find ourselves presented with a compelling opportunity as we engage in fundraising efforts and establish connections with investors, paving the way for a potential Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the United States. This development follows a strategic restructuring, culminating in our holding company's successful filing with NASDAQ. As a technology company, securing funding is crucial, especially considering the substantial costs associated with Research and Development (R&D). R&D is the lifeblood of innovation, and financial support is imperative for bringing new and groundbreaking products to fruition. Balancing my roles as a businessman and an engineer, I strive to run these two aspects in parallel. I am committed to maintaining a strong technical vision, ensuring that our focus extends beyond mere numbers, and aligns with the realization of our innovative product goals. The impending IPO marks a significant milestone, reflecting the synergy between our business strategy and technical endeavours.
