David Galperin
Owner & Chairman
The growing number of mobile and streaming devices, driven by the expansion of mobile internet access and increasing connection speeds, leads to a constant increase in demand for all sorts of digital media. The biggest market shift can be linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has resulted in a massive increase in media demand and the necessity for digitization. Although the USA is still leading the market, it is the Asian countries in particular that are demonstrating how increasing prosperity creates great demand for knowledge, culture, and entertainment.
David Galperin is an entrepreneur and industry leader in marketing and sales management, who founded the renowned media agency in Israel, Gil Group, which specializes in marketing with a strong digital dimension. David has a Unique specialization in managing 360-degree sales processes with a specialization in real estate investments, capital acquisition, and telemarketing solutions, among other areas. The company develops, designs, and executes large-scale innovative publicity campaigns, as well as provides business consulting, design, and printing services to the general public. Over the last twenty years, the company has grown to a 50 million NIS annual turnover, over 5,000 clients, and the prestigious DAN seal of Credibility and Stability in 2021.
David Galperin engages in an exclusive interview with CEO Insights Asia wherein he enlightens us more about Gil Group as well as his unique Leadership trait.
How would you define Gil Group as an organization and its position in the market? What is the unique proposition that your organization offers to clients?
Gil Group is a platform that includes one of the largest groups of firms in Israel in the fields of marketing, communication, and media. Our main goal is to serve as a place where all of our clients' advertising and marketing needs can be met under one umbrella. At the end of the day, customers are seeking a product that is convenient for them rather than switching between several suppliers which will increase the likelihood of failure owing to poor supplier selection and a lack of coordination among process participants. Our proposition incorporates a high level of professionalism, providing real value to the consumer which allows us to remain relevant for a long time.
Tell us about your leadership approach. What are the guidelines you follow as a leader?
Nowadays, especially after the Pandemic, a lot of people choose to work from home and devote their time to multiple companies. Younger generations, in particular, want to move jobs rather than serve for decades in the same place. Thus, it’s crucial to build a healthy working environment. Our organization recognizes that forceful command cannot be used to compel others to comply simply because you are in charge. Leadership, in my opinion, is about getting people to comprehend concepts and care about others, making them absolutely certain that this is the greatest place for them to maximize the potential they have. Leadership is about creating a vision and encouraging everyone that it is possible to achieve their aspiration and that it is more than just about payroll checks and data requests.
Our proposition incorporates a high level of professionalism, providing real value to the consumer which allows us to remain relevant for a long time
Going forward, what are the changes in market behavior that you anticipate, and what are the opportunities that you foresee?
To see it out in the market, especially today it's becoming increasingly difficult for small enterprises to grow or expand into new industries. If you have your funds and set a strong financial position in the next five years, you will get a lot of bang for your buck. In five years, it will be more vital to be able to work and be present with all of the changes that will occur in the world, which will definitely require us all to be as digital and technologically aligned as possible.
In light of your strong experience within the industry, what advice would you give to budding industry leaders?
To all aspiring industry leaders seeking to grasp opportunities and set benchmarks in the industry, it is always better to be indigenous and lay emphasis on learning. Their current knowledge will almost certainly be obsolete tomorrow. If you choose a path, put your all into it and be extremely professional. Don't take on numerous projects at once and muck things up; instead, always look to add value.
