Digital marketing leaders are a new breed of manager who combines conceptual, strategic, and interpersonal skills. A successful leader will therefore be adaptable to emerging trends in their industry, have strong persuasive skills, and be able to keep their clients and teams on the same page. These leaders are the ones who can give their company a strong vision and an upper hand over the competitors.
Chaipoosit Hengprasartporn is one such young and dynamic digital marketing leader, driven by the vision of creating a global image for myself and his agency in the industry. Chaipoosit is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of DOPE EYES, a Bangkokbased collaboration between a 360-degree digital agency and an initiative and international production house.
Chaipoosit Hengprasartporn engages in an exclusive interaction with CEO Insights Asia and enlightens us more about his professional trait as well as the unique play of DOPE EYES in the digital marketing world. Let’s read.
Could you give a brief account of your professional background and experiences? What is the motivation that fuels your daily routines?
I pursued my bachelor's degree in marketing from Mahidol University in Thailand, and I also attended postgraduate school at the University of Leeds for advertising and marketing. I've been in the digital marketing industry for half a decade now. I began my career as a strategic planner at a multinational digital agency, and have worked with clients on the international front. After a year, I decided to team up with a friend's production house and launch DOPE EYES as a digital agency.
There are numerous obstacles and challenges, but I am always willing to devote myself in order to be the leader of this organization. I'm always open to picking up new skills and learning new things in the digital world so that I can project a global image for myself and my agency. This is the goal that I'm heading toward, and it drives my daily routine.
How would you define DOPE EYES as an organization and its current position in the market?
DOPE EYES is a small fish with powerful fins in the vast ocean. The digital agency world is filled with a lot of competitors and companies of all sizes. Thus, I believe the ones who can survive and be adaptable to the trends in the field of digital marketing are the ones who are highly regarded. At DOPE EYES, we are not only adaptable on the services front, but also the management plan as well. I can proudly say that DOPE EYES is one of the leading small-size agencies with efficiency and working process, as well as deliverables outcomes that can satisfy client needs.

What are the value additions that customers can expect from your offerings?
DOPE EYES is basically a client and reality-based creative agency, that perfectly understands how to balance the client's desires with what can actually work in a market. At DOPE EYES, every employee is dedicated to the task at hand, ensuring that our clients receive the best version of the outcomes. We provide end-to-end marketing solution which includes but is not limited to branding, photography, videography, and influencer marketing, which involves content, marketing, and productions where we can demonstrate our expertise throughout the execution that satisfies the client while meeting the right target as well as being able to launch the campaign effectively.
Tell us about your leadership approach. What are the guidelines or methodologies you follow as a leader?
My leadership style falls into two parts: the emotional approach and the functional approach. The first is the emotional approach, where I believe that a good leader should have empathy for their employees and work to increase team motivation. Working as an agency provides many opportunities for fulfillment, but it also provides many instances of disappointment. So, I always tell my team not to let disappointments bring them down. There is one quote that I have a bit of a fetish for and often share with my team, ‘Good times become good memories, bad times become good lessons.’
For the functional part, my track is to lay a solid foundation without weighing down the work. For instance, we regularly seek employee input on how best to lead my team in an efficient and sustainable manner. I'll say that it depends on the individual how many people have various chores to complete that task. We set the standard procedure while letting our employees an opportunity to execute in their own manner to maximize the highest potential.
What future destination are you heading towards?
Looking ahead, I would like to build up the organization to be in the global market. I believe that I cannot build this organization by myself, but that with my direction and ideation, I can encourage everyone in the company to achieve the same. It's my path to build, motivate, inspire them, and ultimately accomplish the goal. Currently, DOPE EYES is manned with 25 proficient professionals, and going forward, I would like to expand the team members. Therefore, over the course of the next five years, we plan to grow the company twofold, as well as scale up the campaign that we launched globally and satisfy more and more clients in the future.
