Could you give us a brief overview of your professional journey?

Over 25 years, I have had an exhilarating and fulfilling professional journey. After completing my Mechanical Engineering Degree, I pursued a Master's in Business Management, which allowed me to seamlessly blend my technical expertise and passion for engineering with strategic management and business acumen. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work with prominent multinational companies based in The United States and Europe, operating as leaders in their respective industries. This experience has exposed me to international business practices and provided me with a broader perspective. As the individual responsible for overseeing the KMT Waterjet Business in South Asia, South East Asia, and the Middle East, I have worked in diverse geographical locations and developed a high level of adaptability to different cultures. Drawing upon my extensive industry experience, I have successfully managed the sales and distribution of Heavy Engineering Capital Goods through various channels.

What has been the key to your success in your journey so far?

Rather than relying on a single mantra for success, it is a combination of several factors, including adopting effective business practices, inculcating and adhering to elevated work principles, and gaining versatile experience over time. However, the most crucial elements for achieving dramatic growth and ensuring long-term success are customer delight and retention. Building a great customer experience doesn’t happen by accident; it happens by design. It is essential to remain committed to delivering what you have promised to your customers. Even when faced with challenges such as delayed deliveries or products not meeting expectations, it is vital to stand by the customer and provide support until they are content. This can be a difficult moment, but being there for the customer in times of trouble establishes loyalty. In moments like these, albeit challenging, customers appreciate your unwavering presence and remain loyal to your brand. There is a big difference between a satisfied customer and a loyal customer. Never settle for ‘satisfied’. Furthermore, it is crucial to understand the needs of customers and engage in conscientious selling. It is better to refrain from making a sale than to make a wrong one.

We are committed to manufacturing, selling, and installing Ultra High-Pressure Pumps for over six decades. In 1971, we pioneered the installation of the first-ever commercial Waterjet Cutting System. Since then, KMT Waterjet Systems has become a global front-runner and pace-setter in the Waterjet Cutting Industry. Today, we manufacture the Fastest Waterjet with the UHP Pump capable of pressurizing water up to 90,000 PSI (6,200 bar).

In terms of market potential, India stands out as a promising global market for Waterjet Cutting due to its focus on the manufacturing sector and high adaptability to technological advancements. Additionally, I anticipate that Vietnam and Thailand in Southeast Asia, along with Saudi Arabia in the Middle East, will emerge as interesting markets in the years to come.
