How would you define Koding Next as an organization and its current position in the market?
Bartek Wasik: Koding Next stands as a beacon of innovation and education in coding across Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia, with a vast community of 15,000 active students. Our collaborations with esteemed organizations like Marshall Cavendish and impactful partnerships with government bodies showcase our commitment to quality.
Mateusz Rybinski: We stand out with a unique approach, crafting our curriculum with insights from Harvard School of Education advisors. Our dedication to better learning experiences drives experiments in delivering scalable applications to schools, ensuring every teacher has the tools they need. It's not just about coding but about shaping futures with ingenuity and heart.
Tell us about your leadership approach. What are the guidelines or methodologies you follow as a leader?
Bartek Wasik: I'm a staunch advocate for continuous improvement and consider myself a situational leader adapting my approach based on project urgency. When deadlines loom, I steer the team with direct management, pushing for peak performance. Conversely, in less time-sensitive endeavors, I adopt a more lenient stance, allowing the team to learn from mistakes and grow organically.
Mateusz Rybinski: Similar to aviation industry’s remarkable safety record, I prioritize strong procedures and a culture of learning. I draw inspiration from their approach to mistakes- viewing them not as failures but as opportunities to refine our strategies. When mistakes occur, I focus on teaching, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing procedures to prevent recurrence.
Elaborate about the learning & development framework built within the company and which are the latest technology trends used to achieve these goals?
Bartek Wasik: We integrate AI tools to craft personalized learning materials, enabling our team to grow at their own pace. This not only enhances our staff development but also sparks contemplation on the broader impact of AI. As avid fans of AI, we're constantly exploring its potential to revolutionize not just employee management but also redefine how our students learn, ensuring our organization stays at the forefront of innovative and effective education.
Mateusz Rybinski: Amidst our technological endeavors and strategic goals, we hold onto our core: which is human touch. We prioritize genuine connections and community building within our diverse team and go beyond professional duties, instilling the understanding that each employee plays a pivotal role in impacting the world of education.
What is the future destination you are heading towards?
Bartek Wasik: As we expand across Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and beyond, our long-term ambition is to be the pinnacle of excellence in this field. The commitment to providing the best quality coding education for kids and teenagers is not just a goal but our heartfelt dedication to shaping a brighter future globally.
Mateusz Rybinski: As we globally expand, opening branches in Thailand and establishing a joint venture in Poland, our mission broadens. Personally, I'm deeply invested in diverse educational styles, experimenting to tackle global challenges. This has propelled us to leverage AI and technology, unlocking personalized education's potential which is a quest to transform learning on a global scale.
In the light of your strong experience within the industry, what advice would you give to the upcoming industry leaders?
Bartek Wasik: My personal mantra is to always dream and plan big because ambitious goals inspire hard work and efficiency. Dreaming big is our compass, steering us towards excellence and helping us achieve our goals.
Mateusz Rybinski: In education, prioritize purpose over profit because it's a profound responsibility to shape young minds. Dedicate yourself to unwavering quality and a heightened sense of responsibility, recognizing the immense influence on children's lives.
