Could you briefly describe your professional background and experiences? What is the motivation that fuels your daily routines?

With a solid foundation in Political Science from Holy Name University and a successful completion of my law degree at the University of Santo Tomas, my journey in the legal realm began. Initially honing my skills in litigation across various quasi-judicial bodies, courts, and appellate levels, I swiftly transitioned to in-house counsel roles. Here, my focus shifted to meticulous contract reviews, legislative matters, and navigating complex agreements, particularly within FinTech and tech sectors, alongside stringent regulatory compliance, anti-money laundering, and data privacy regulations. Founding our firm, The Law Firm of Napiere Abueg Ragsac & Partners was a natural progression, allowing me to offer comprehensive legal services spanning litigation, corporate law, compliance, regulatory affairs, and specialized expertise in FinTech and data privacy.

My daily drive stems from a passion for delivering meticulous legal solutions, safeguarding clients' interests, and navigating the ever-evolving legal landscape with integrity and precision.

What inspired your career choice in law, specifically this field?

My career path in law was ignited by a deep-seated desire to make a meaningful impact, both in the legal landscape and within my own community. Growing up in the Philippines, I witnessed firsthand the pressing need for legal practitioners who could champion justice and uphold the rule of law. This inspired me to establish our firm in Metro Manila and fueled my ambition to expand our reach to underserved areas, including my own province. One of my many motivations stems from my father’s experience. He was wrongly accused of a complaint at his workplace, leading to his unjust dismissal. Witnessing this injustice firsthand ignited my passion for seeking justice and ensuring that others do not suffer similar fates. It is a driving force behind my commitment to the legal profession, as I aim to use my skills to protect the rights of clients and ensure that clients are well-protected against legal and regulatory risks.

Could you provide insights into your role and responsibilities at The Law Firm of Napiere Abueg Ragsac & Partners?

As the managing partner of The Law Firm of Napiere Abueg Ragsac & Partners, I spearhead our operations alongside esteemed co-founders, Attorneys Raponcel Abueg and Graham Ragsac. My primary focus entails overseeing all Firm’s cases, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring efficient handling of legal matters, thereby upholding our commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.

How do you navigate international regulatory compliance while providing services to clients outside your country with varying regulations?

Navigating international regulatory compliance requires a strategic approach grounded in collaboration and thorough research. We prioritize understanding our clients' needs and the specific regulatory requirements of their respective countries. My leadership approach revolves around viewing challenges as opportunities for growth. Just like solving puzzles, I encourage my team to see obstacles as something we can work together to overcome. Collaboration is key; by fostering a culture of teamwork and shared problem-solving, we can overcome any challenge together. This approach instills confidence, resilience, and a proactive mindset within the team, driving us towards success while fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment.

What is the future destination you are heading towards?

Our current focus is establishing a physical presence beyond Metro Manila, starting with provinces across the Philippines. Following this, we aim to forge partnerships with firms in Southeast Asia, Asia, and eventually, globally. The overarching goal is to continuously enhance our capabilities, ensuring we provide exemplary services to a broader clientele. I am committed to personal growth, enriching my knowledge to better serve both existing and prospective clients, facilitating the firm's expansion, and positioning us as a leading legal service provider on a global scale.
