SKY's the Limit for SNU

Separator

This modern time is an era of collaboration. The educational sector is no different. Seoul National University (SNU), South Korea, has always been a torchbearer of this collaborative approach to education. One of the institute’s latest collaborations is with South Korea-based Samsung Biologics. They recently signed an MoU to foster bio experts as part of industry-academia collaboration. In the aftermath of the MoU, Samsung Biologics and the School of Biological Sciences at SNU will join hands to launch a program to nurture bio talent, as well as offer Master’s scholarships for top-performing undergraduates. The students will also get an opportunity to work at Samsung Biologics after completing their degree.

On the other hand, the university has a multipronged, sophisticated approach to education and its courses. For instance, in 2013, SNU launched a sports administrative education program called Dream Together Master (DTM), which continues to help foster the next generation of sports administrators in developing countries. It is a flagship international sports development cooperation project in Korea, with support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation. The program has already produced 221 graduates across 57 countries, who are now actively contributing to the development of sports in their respective countries through various roles, including government agencies, National Olympic Committees (NOCs), and international sports organizations. One of the SKY universities and a part of the Flagship Korean National Universities, being a part of this prestigious university’s history is a privilege. Through this yearly special issue, we are featuring some of the reputed alumni of SNU.
