Fiji is blessed with not only amazing nature, but also international ports and airports that enjoy frequent connections, making it one of the most accessible economies in the Pacific. Intrinsically, Fiji has an ever-growing tourism industry with visitors majorly from countries like Australia, New Zealand and North America. Fiji is one of the most favored destinations for people who are in pursuit of a tropical holiday with family and friends, business retreat/MICE, or sporting events. The recently concluded Fiji Tourism Exchange 2024 echoed the same sentiments.

Commenting on the occasion, the Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon. Viliame Gavoka, spoke about the country’s ongoing plans to enhance tourism. He said, “Tourism remains a cornerstone of Fiji’s economy, and the Fiji Tourism Exchange serves as a prime platform to showcase our rich culture, traditions, and amazing natural wonders to the world. We’re building upon the success of last year, and the momentum is palpable.” However, the authorities also understand the importance of preserving the destinations with cleanliness. The “If You Can’t Bin It, Bag It” campaign was announced by Tourism Fiji CEO Brent Hill at the Fiji Tourism Exchange 2024. The campaign aims to preserve Fiji’s natural beauty by promoting responsible practices, self-awareness, and behavior change at the grassroots level. “As we move forward, it’s evident that our tourism landscape is evolving. Our tourism industry is strong, performing incredibly well, positioned for further growth, and our country is well prepared to take on the challenge.” It’s a sure bet that Fiji’s tourism industry will thrive in the future.
