Something that differentiates great universities from educational institutions is their ability to travel abreast of the technological transformations in the business realm. One of the Big5 universities in Indonesia, IPB University is the epitome of this. IPB’s Blockchain Robotics Artificial Intelligence Network (BRAIN) researchers, under the guidance of Prof Yandra Arkeman, successfully developed the Indonesia National Single Window (INSW) Delivery Order Online application product based on blockchain technology.
INSW is a system designed to streamline, facilitate, and expedite the licensing process for goods being exported or imported through a single service portal. This system aims to shorten the duration of the export and import licensing procedures, reduce associated costs, and enhance measures to prevent and combat the smuggling of illegal goods, which pose risks to the state, public health, and the environment.

Lend your ears to Prof Yandra; he says, “The INSW Online application needs to be adjusted to fit the rapid development of technology, especially digital technology. This needs to be done so that the efficiency and effectiveness of services and the usefulness of the INSW Online application can be increased in accordance with the needs and demands of the market and world trade. The implementation of blockchain technology in INSW is the result of an invitational Productive Innovative Research (Rispro) research activity funded by the Education Fund Management Agency (LPDP) of the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) for 2023-2024. We congratulate the research team and are delighted to publish our early special issue, shedding light on some of the stellar alumni of the institute.
