| | MAY 20248Startups worldwide raised a total of $415.1 billion from investors in 2022, down 35 percent from 2021's all-time high. It goes without saying that the startup ecosystem is a vital aspect of global economic growth and social progress. Entrepreneurial instincts are often developed in academic institutes, which makes the interventions from higher education institutes in the startup landscape crucial. Australia's Curtin University is manifesting a great example regarding such an intervention. The institute has taken a significant step towards fostering innovation in the resources sector with the launch of its new venture studio, a strategic initiative under the Trailblazer Universities Program. This $18.6 million investment is dedicated to expediting the development of groundbreaking technologies aimed at achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The Curtin Venture Studio is set to catalyze the growth of startups that are at the forefront of crafting sustainable solutions for the resources industry. The platform was inaugurated by Assistant Minister for Education, Senator the Hon. This marks a pivotal moment in the university's commitment to driving environmental sustainability and technological advancement."Western Australia is home to the critical resources the world needs to reach net zero, and this Trailblazer will help tackle some of the sector's biggest challenges, so we can hit that target," Assistant Minister Chisholm said. "This initiative signals a significant milestone in strengthening university and industry collaboration to foster entrepreneurship within the resources sector, drive economic growth and create the jobs of the future," he adds. The Curtin Venture Studio targets to provide researchers and founders with access to capital, talent, market expertise, mentorship and infrastructure to build `protoventures'. These ventures will be prototyped as new enterprises based on demand driven research. This yearly special issue is dedicated to the prestigious alumni of Curtin University.Sujith VasudevanManaging Editoreditor@ceoinsightsasia.comEditorialBeing A Catalyst to Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Manager - DesignPrabhu Dutta A.R.N Ray Designer Vayshnavi pdVol 04 · Issue 02 - 05 · MAY, 2024 Publisher Alok Chaturvedi Managing Editor Sujith Vasudevan Noida Rohit Raghubanshi Akshay Shettyadvertise@ceoinsightsasia.comEditorial queries editor@ceoinsightsasia.comTo subscribeVisit www.ceoinsightsasia.com/subscribe/ or send emailto subscription@ceoinsightsasia.comMagazine Price is $50 per issuePublisher Alok ChaturvediPrinted and Published By Alok Chaturvedi on behalf of InfoConnect Web Technologies India Pvt.
