| | JULY 20239The top minister of the Kingdom spoke with prominent Chinese executives during his official tour, and the two countries are looking into ways to collaborate in technology and related infrastructure. According to sources, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Communication and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Swaha met with Huawei CEO Ren Zheng in Shenzhen to strengthen their current collaborations in the digital sector and support capacity building.The minister met with a number of Saudi students and technical experts who were undergoing training for a Huawei ICT Academy programme in collaboration with the Saudi Digital Academy during his visit to Huawei's headquarters.The Kingdom has concentrated on laying a solid basis for its developing digital economy because it is one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Huawei has signed numerous agreements and established partnerships in order to support the Kingdom's initiatives to create a digital economy. Huawei and Zain KSA, a Saudi Arabian telecommunications company, inked a memorandum of intent to create a joint innovation project during the Mobile World Congress in Spain in March. The agreement aimed to advance 5.5G technology innovation and broaden scalable options to people, businesses, and governments. According to the agreement, both sides will collaborate to develop a global 5.5G network in line with Vision 2030 in order to boost Saudi Arabia's digital infrastructure. The Saudi-Chinese relationship is getting stronger, which will help the digital economy flourish and provide prosperity to innovation and space, hence the minister's travel to China. A senior delegation from organizations connected to the Kingdom's space, digital economy, and innovation systems travelled alongside the minister. The minister also met with his Chinese counterpart and a number of other representatives in order to strengthen alliances and draw additional technology investments to the Kingdom.
